Hello! My name is Ruth Brady and I am the Fundraising Officer for the Andrew Simpson Foundation. Thank you so much for being part of our Bart’s Bash Team!
I joined the Foundation in January 2020 and had no idea what a challenging year it would turn out to be! A big thank you to all of you who took part in Bart’s Bash last year. I know that your events had to look slightly different but together we still managed to raise £9,500!
This money has enabled us to support young people throughout the pandemic, helping them to get out on the water, gain qualifications, develop life skills and (most importantly!) socialise with friends in a fun yet safe way. Thank you so much!
This past year has been difficult for us all. However, it has been especially challenging for our young people. Many have missed out on education and have been unable to socialise with their friends. This has had a negative impact on their physical and mental health.
That is why, this year, we want to raise £20,000. This money will support young people around the world, enabling them to experience the joys and challenges of sailing and watersports.
But we can only do this with your help! We would love it if you fundraised for the Foundation during your Bart’s Bash event.
- £35 would fund a Discover Sailing session for one young person
- £150 would fund one term of Sailing or Race Club
- £600 would fund one aspiring young leader through our year-long programme
