Bart’s Bash is a global sailing and watersports participation event created in memory of Olympic sailor Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson.
Every September, clubs, sailors, families and communities around the world come together to celebrate sailing, get on the water, raise funds and remember Bart.

The story behind Bart’s Bash
Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson was an Olympic Gold and Silver medallist, America’s Cup sailor and passionate advocate for sailing.
Bart believed deeply in the power of sailing to challenge people, build confidence, create friendships and open doors.
Following his tragic death in 2013, the sailing community wanted to find a way to celebrate his life and continue his belief that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the water.
Bart’s Bash was born.
The first event took place in 2014, bringing thousands of sailors from around the world together in one extraordinary celebration of sailing.
It became a Guinness World Record holder for the largest sailing race.
More than a decade later, Bart’s Bash continues to bring the global sailing community together.
Remembering Bart
Bart was an extraordinary sailor.

But those who knew him remember much more than his medals.
They remember his energy, determination, humour, generosity and love of sailing.
