The Andrew Simpson Foundation
Transforming lives through sailing
The Andrew Simpson Foundation was founded in memory of Olympic sailor Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson.
Our mission is simple:
Transform lives through sailing.
We believe sailing and watersports can help people develop confidence, resilience, health and wellbeing, practical skills and a belief in what they can achieve.
We work to make those opportunities available to more people, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Creating opportunities through sailing
Getting on the water
Creating opportunities for people to experience sailing and watersports for the first time.
Building confidence
Using the challenge and adventure of being on the water to develop confidence, resilience and wellbeing.
Developing skills
Supporting people to gain qualifications, experience and skills that can open doors.
Creating pathways
Helping people progress through participation, leadership, education and performance.
The impact of Bart’s Bash
Since 2014, ASF has raised and reinvested more than £17.5 million into the sailing community and generated more than £87 million in social value.
Bart’s Bash is one of the ways the sailing community comes together to support that mission.
By taking part, fundraising or donating, you can help create more opportunities for people to get on the water, learn new skills and build future career pathways.
